Australian International Palliative Education & Consultancy Services AIPEACS hosted a group of nurses from Japan to complete a Training Course in Melbourne between the 19 and 22 February 2019. The nurses were from various parts of Japan, Izumo, Kobe and Tokyo. The nurses and their team leader were sponsored by the Japanese Educational Clinical Cardiology Society JECCS of Osaka. AIPEACS has a wonderful association with JECCS. Julie Paul will be presenting to JECCS, Board, Staff, Health Professionals and Community Members in Osaka in May 2019.

The Training Course included the following subjects and also comprised of visits to health care facilities and a home visit. Topics were: Australian Health Care System, Palliative Care Philosophy, Community Engagement, Principles of No Lift Practise, Role of Multidisciplinary Team Home Based Community Palliative Care, Dying with Dignity, Managing Difficult Symptoms in Cardiac Patients including dyspnoea & sedation, Communication in Advance Care Planning & Difficult Conversations. Each Participant presented a Clinical Case Scenario for discussion
